Our Favorite Projects

Stonelake-Arial-1024x682-1

Stone Lake, 2022

FORTA-FERRO – OptiPave System
Total Project Size: 600,000 sq ft | Dosage: 4.0 lb/cu yd

This high-volume parking lot was designed using the OptiPave System with FORTA-FERRO macro synthetic fibers to provide the owner with a durable, sustainable, cost effective concrete pavement.

The proprietary design system, significantly reduces the amount of curling and prevents both edges of the panel from being loaded simultaneously. This optimized design permits significant reduction in thickness while providing owners with a durable concrete pavement that requires minimal maintenance.

FORTA-FERRO – Pavement
Fiber Length: 2.25″ | Dosage: 4.0lbs./cu. yd.

FORTA-FERRO was used to reinforce a concrete pavement slab used for heavy industrial equipment in Zelienople, PA.

Multi-National Distribution Center, 2019

FORTA-FI® – Parking Lot

An American multi-national distribution center in Arcadia, FL used FORTA-FI fiber to reinforce a new parking lot. This new construction used 1,600 lb of fiber and was laid at a thickness of 6”. FORTA-FI was used in both the wearing course and base layer of this project. The wearing course was 2” thick, and the base layer ended up being 4” thick and consisted of shell limestone.

Long-Term Benefits of FORTA Solutions

Our engineering solutions provide a holistic approach to infrastructure development by integrating FORTA solutions into project design and execution. FORTA-FERRO simplifies and enhances concrete projects with its fiber reinforcement, eliminating the need for traditional steel mesh, thereby reducing labor, costs, and improving the longevity and aesthetic of concrete structures. FORTA-FI, on the other hand, extends the life of asphalt pavements, offering economic benefits through reduced maintenance and material use, all while providing resilience against heavy traffic and temperature extremes.

The OptiPave Pavement System, when designed by FORTA Engineering, optimizes asphalt construction by advocating for shorter panel designs that work in synergy with FORTA-FERRO, leading to sustainable, cost-effective road surfaces with superior performance.

Additionally, FORTA Engineering leverages the capabilities of Helix Steel’s Micro Rebar® for specialized concrete applications, enhancing structural integrity where traditional reinforcement might not be ideal.

This integration of products under FORTA Engineering’s expertise ensures that developers and owners can achieve projects that are not only durable and low-maintenance but also environmentally responsible. By tailoring these solutions to specific project needs, FORTA helps in crafting infrastructure that stands the test of time, reduces lifecycle costs, and aligns with modern sustainability practices.

Save Time & Money – Improve Safety

Using the FORTA solutions enhances safety across various applications by improving pavement and structural integrity:

  • FORTA-FI® (Asphalt Reinforcement): Minimizes cracking, rutting, and surface deformation in asphalt, ensuring smoother, safer driving conditions and reducing accident risks caused by pavement failure.

  • FORTA-FERRO® (Concrete Reinforcement): Enhances the impact resistance and durability of concrete, preventing cracking and minimizing hazards while eliminating the need for traditional reinforcements

  • OptiPave® Pavement System (Engineered Pavement Solution): Optimizes pavement design and performance, providing superior load distribution and resistance to wear, ensuring long-lasting, safe surfaces for high-traffic areas.

  • Helix Steel Micro Rebar®: Adds three-dimensional reinforcement to concrete, increasing tensile strength and resistance to shear forces, reducing the risk of structural failure in bridges, parking decks, and other critical infrastructure.

Together, these products improve surface reliability, reduce maintenance disruptions, and enhance overall safety for vehicles, aircraft, and pedestrians.

Award Winning Fibers

concrete-artistry-award-1-1

1ST PLACE – ASCC 2016 AWARDS

In 2016, the American Society of Concrete Contractors awarded the “Stealth” project 1st Place in Concrete Artistry / Under 5000 SF. FORTA-FERRO®‘s use in the “Stealth” project was beneficial due to the angular slopes and overall complication of the design. FORTA-FERRO macro synthetic fiber was used to ensure that the integrity and strength of the concrete would not be compromised.
