Project Description
A first-time contractor successfully completed the construction of a state-of-the-art airport hangar utilizing 7.5 lb/cu yd of FORTA-FERRO® macro synthetic fibers for concrete reinforcement. This marked their initial use of fiber reinforcement, and the results exceeded expectations.
FORTA-FERRO macro synthetic fibers provided superior crack control, durability, and long-term performance, eliminating the need for traditional steel reinforcement. The ease of placement and finishing allowed the contractor to stay ahead of schedule and under budget.
Due to its outstanding performance, innovative fiber integration, and overall execution, the project received high industry praise and accolades, validating the success of the fiber-reinforced approach. This hangar now stands as a benchmark for future concrete applications in aviation infrastructure.
