Project Description

The client is upgrading over 2.8 million square feet of its intermodal facility parking areas, replacing compacted base with 16-inch-deep concrete pavement to improve durability and long-term performance. The concrete is batched on site, delivered via dump trucks, and placed using a Gramaco Slip Form Paving Machine. To meet the demands of a high-traffic industrial environment, FORTA-FERRO® synthetic fibers were specified directly into the mix at 5 lbs/cu yd., reinforcing the concrete to reduce shrinkage, improve impact and fatigue resistance, and enhance overall toughness and durability.

This large-scale application underscores FORTA’s role in supporting reliable, long-lasting concrete pavements. The project reflects a strong commitment to innovation and structural integrity, with completion expected in Spring 2026.
