Sandy Parkway Overlay – 10-year update

Project Description
In 2015, Sandy City selected a busy segment of Sandy Parkway near 90th Street for its first trial of FORTA-FI® fiber-reinforced asphalt. Following a 2-inch mill, a 2.5-inch overlay using PG 64-35 ¾” mix with FORTA-FI was placed. The goal was to extend pavement life and reduce cracking, rutting, and future maintenance.
Update
Ten years later, the pavement shows limited cracking and minimal distress, confirming the long-term durability benefits of FORTA-FI reinforcement fibers.
