This control vs. fiber project in LA County on Davenport Road featured FORTA-FI® reinforced asphalt on the north side and conventional asphalt on the south side. After only 2 years, the difference is stark throughout the 3.7-mile project, with frequent cracks in the conventional lane that stop at the center line where the fiber section starts.
A rehabilitation project on Canada Larga Road in Ventura County, CA included a two-mile section paved with a 2” rubberized asphalt overlay—one mile reinforced with FORTA-FI® and one mile without fiber. After 11 years, the FORTAfied™ section still shows little sign of cracking.
On W Avenue D in Lancaster, CA, one half of the road was overlaid with FORTA-FI® while the other half was left without fiber. After 7 months, the control side showed reflective cracking, while the FORTA-FI® section remained intact, proving its ability to reduce cracking and extend pavement life.
