Finishing

The finishing of Helix® reinforced concrete does not require special equipment. The general finishing processes used to finish Helix® reinforced concrete is the same as those used to finish conventional concrete.

Finishing Instructions

The following are tips for easy finishing:

1. When possible, use a vibrating, roller or laser screed. When vibration is not possible use a “jitterbug” to force coarse materials below the surface. Use of these tools is not required, but will make finishing easier. As with conventional concrete, do not overwork the surface.
2. Use only metal hand tools.
3. Always pull finishing tools in a constant direction.
4. A wet-cut saw may be used to cut joints.
5. Wait 15-60 minutes after concrete is placed to apply a brush finish. Brush in one direction only.
