Grove City, PA completed a side-by-side trial project (control vs. fiber) on Spring Street. The entire road was first milled and then filled. The Hummelstown Convenience Store project (2016) reinforced a delivery access road with FORTA-FI® fiber in the asphalt mix to improve durability. After seven years of heavy truck use, the pavement shows excellent performance with no major distress.
O’Hara Township engineers tested FORTAfied® asphalt to extend the life of a heavily cracked cul-de-sac. One lane used standard asphalt, while the other incorporated FORTA-FI® fiber in both layers. After 11 years, the FORTAfied® lane shows minimal cracking and superior durability, demonstrating FORTA-FI’s effectiveness in holding the asphalt matrix and reducing deterioration.
