Project Description
FORTA-FI® was used in two test sections of the Autobahn “A9”, the federally controlled access highway system near Greding, between Munich and Nuremberg. Researchers wanted to test a 5 cm thick application of FORTA-FI® in the deceleration and acceleration lanes – the on and off ramps – of the highway where drivers would practice constant hard breaking and fast accelerations.
