Lexus – Orlando, FL
Project Description
Over 500,000 sq ft of FORTA-FERRO reinforced concrete replaced 6 x 6/ W2.9 x W2.9 wire mesh in the paving and topping slabs for this new automobile dealership. The pavement in the new vehicle parking areas, outside vehicle display areas, driveways, repair shop areas, and car wash areas consisted of 4,000 psi/6” thick concrete with a dosage of 3.0 lb/cu yd of FORTA-FERRO macro synthetic fibers. The topping slab for the roof of the parking deck was 3” thick and used the same 3.0 lb/cu yd dosage and 4,000 psi concrete. This topping slab was placed over 34” precast double tee’s with a waterproof membrane. FORTA-FERRO fibers increased the durability of the concrete, reduced initial and long-term cracking, lessened the construction time, and made for a safer work site.
