Not all asphalt fibers are the same. FORTA-FI® is an engineered blend designed for superior dispersion, proven performance, and long-term pavement durability — measured at the NCAT Test Track and validated across 20+ million tons of asphalt worldwide.

FORTA-FI combines uncoated aramid and polyolefin fibers in a patented loose form for superior dispersion and uniform distribution throughout the mix.
The blend matters — because performance starts with the right fibers working together.

The FORTA Voyager simplifies fiber delivery in drum and batch plants with automated dispensing, quick data extraction, and extremely accurate recordkeeping — keeping day-to-day operations running efficiently.

From the NCAT Test Track to side-by-side field applications, FORTA-FI has demonstrated long-term asphalt performance under demanding conditions.
With no cracking after approximately 30 million ESALs at the NCAT Test Track, FORTA-FI delivers reinforcement that producers, contractors, and agencies can measure, compare, and trust.

FORTA has been used in over 20 million tons of asphalt worldwide, across more than 60 countries, and for over 20 years. FORTA-FI has been proven across virtually every asphalt application, from highways to intersections to commercial surfaces.

From accelerated test tracks to county roads, municipal streets, and high-traffic commercial sites, FORTA-FI® has been put to the test in real-world conditions — and the results speak for themselves. These projects demonstrate measurable, long-term performance gains including reduced cracking, higher PCI scores, and extended pavement life, helping agencies and owners get more out of every paving dollar.

At one of the industry’s toughest testing environments, a FORTA-FI® reinforced porous friction course endured 30 million ESALs — the equivalent of 30 years of traffic — and remained completely crack-free after 9 years, while two comparable mixes cracked under the same loading.

A 3.7-mile side-by-side overlay on Davenport Road compared FORTA-FI® reinforced asphalt against a conventional control section. After just 2 years, frequent cracks in the conventional lane stopped at the centerline where the fiber-reinforced section began — providing clear visual proof of FORTA-FI®’s ability to resist cracking.

Grove City split a thin 1-inch overlay into fiber-reinforced and control sections to evaluate FORTA-FI® performance. After 3 years, the FORTA-FI® side scored a PCI of 95 with minimal distress, outperforming the control section’s PCI of 88 — demonstrating measurably superior durability even in a thin-lift application.
Overlaying old brick pavement that had repeatedly failed to meet its expected life, PennDOT District 1-0 turned to a 2-inch FORTA-FI® reinforced overlay where thicker pavements weren’t an option due to existing curbs, drainage, and ADA ramps. Eight years later, the pavement remains in excellent condition — and PennDOT plans to continue using FORTA-FI® on future projects.

Facing constant heavy truck traffic, this Love’s Travel Stop parking lot needed a cost-effective, durable solution with minimal excavation. A 2-inch FORTA-FI® reinforced wearing course was placed across 3,200 tons of pavement, and 8 years later it continues to exceed performance expectations — delivering superior results at a fraction of the cost of rigid pavement alternatives.
